BBC Radio Ulster - Thought for the Day from Radio Ulster

Rev Kiran Young Wimberly, Friday 5th December 2025

We need a little beauty in our lives.

Advent is an invitation into a time of preparation and waiting in hope.

It is a reminder that without rest, work takes over.

Here's a bit of grime, let's make it fabulous!

The theme of scapegoating emerges early.

What may feel mundane, a chore, exposes a huge amount of privilege.

There’s nothing like a starscape to take me out of my head and into the big, wide world.

...there must be a place for a bit of knocking on wood and throwing salt about.

...something beautiful was happening. They listened to one another.

Suddenly, I felt oddly glamorous.
