The story of Iranians who have lived through the most turbulent of years, with widespread street protests, a brutal crackdown by the authorities and a war launched against Iran by the US and Israel.

The story of Iranians who have lived through the most turbulent and traumatic of years, with widespread street protests, a brutal crackdown by the authorities and a war launched against Iran by the US and Israel.

The film follows one mother who begins the year planning a future with her daughter, only to see it end with a promise to avenge her daughter’s death. After she publicly blamed the Iranian authorities, she was forced to flee the country and live in exile.

A medic reveals how his life has changed after treating hundreds of protesters, many with gunshot wounds, while a man who also fled Iran in fear shares the last messages from a relative, sentenced to death.

Filmed both inside and outside the country, this is the raw and uncompromising story of a year in Iran, told by some of the people who were there.
