Made of Glasgow
Glasgow is the UK's first UNESCO Music City and for good reason. Emily Pilbeam is joined by Stuart Murdoch from beloved Indie band Belle and Sebastian to hear why the city sings.
Belle and Sebastian are one of the most well loved and long lived Indie bands with 12 albums since they started in 1994. Stuart Murdoch from the band joins Emily Pilbeam to talk about Glasgow and how the music scene there has influenced the bands sound.
The city on the banks of the Clyde has also produced huge acts like Chvrches, Franz Ferdinand, Primal Scream, Travis, Teenage Fanclub, Jesus and The Marychain, The Pastels and The Fratellis. Hear these plus picks from Andrew at Mono in Glasgow, songs from Unsung Heroes The Vaselines and new Glaswegian bands to look out for from BBC Introducing.
