Precious Landscapes
Country Focus visits the ancient woodland of Wentwood and the majestic mountains of Eryri.
Country Focus visits some of our most special landscapes in this week's programme - the ancient woodland of Wentwood, and the majestic mountains of Eryri.
Sara Elan Jones is in Monmouthshire to hear both about the work of Coed Cadw, the Woodland Trust in Wales, to restore Wentwood Forest over the last two decades, and about the story of the pine marten here through the work of the Vincent Wildlife Trust.
Lois Cernyw, meanwhile, is visiting Yr Ysgwrn, the historic, poignant farmhouse not far from Trawsfynydd, as Eryri National Park marks 75 years since its designation in October 1951, and finds out more about its role in the conservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage of this fantastic landscape.
