The Conservatives have announced they will develop a missile and drone shield for the UK - if they win the next general election. The party's conference will hear plans to invest 10 billion pounds across a decade in the programme. The Party's Leader, Kemi Badenoch, told BBC Breakfast the programme could be paid for with £1bn earmarked every year for a decade, and pointed to her party having already set out savings in areas such as welfare and net zero. She also said the system was needed so that "we're able to protect ourselves". Should the UK be protected by an Iron Dome?

A Welsh charity is warning people not to overlook the potential risks of strenuous exercise. One person died on Sunday after taking part the Cardiff half marathon. Endurance sports – such as Ironman, Hyrox and distance running - and are now incredibly popular. But the Calon Hearts charity has said that seemingly fit and healthy people may have an underlying condition without any symptoms, and the first sign is a cardiac arrest during exercise.
