Nostalgic sounds to sink into with Zakia… ft. Anja Ngozi

Zakia welcomes in the new season with some nostalgic autumnal selections, reaching for wistful tracks to fully sink into. There’s something by Greek composer Vangelis that’s been stuck in Zakia’s head all week, a 12-minute psychedelic jazz odyssey by Eddie Harris, an ode to autumn from Yo La Tengo, an old favourite from punk professor Vivien Goldman and a brand new cover of The Rotary Connection from LA vocalist Megiapa. There’s also a stack of new releases including Blind Yeo, Sir Richard Bishop, Astrid Engberg and Omertà, as well as a bit of Dylan Thomas to mark 6 Music’s Way With Words.

Plus, we’re transported to the Dreambience of Anja Ngozi, a DJ, producer and composer from London. She shares some of the thoughts behind her debut album Context, and takes us on a journey through music inspired by one of her favourite films.
