Wakefield Trinity are now being hosted at the town hall.

Later, fans will attend a ticketed celebration at Wakefield Exchange, where they'll hear from players and watch key moments from the final.

Council leader Karl Johnson said earlier: "Congratulations to Wakefield Trinity. To win the Grand Final, only the sixth team ever to do so, is an incredible achievement.

“A huge thank you must go to Matt Ellis and the whole Ellis family for the investment and commitment they have given to the club since they took over in 2023.

"The progress they have made in three years is nothing short of incredible. I have no doubt this will be the start of even greater things.

"A great deal of credit also must go to Daryl Powell who has led the club’s climb from the Championship to Grand Final winners.

“A tremendous amount of effort has gone into your fantastic season, and it is only right that the council helps you to celebrate this.

You have done our city proud."
