Who is this activity sheet for?
This digital resource is for families of little squirrels who want to explore the natural world using sensory play.
Connecting with nature has benefits for children, including boosting their wellbeing and helping them to become more aware of their environment. These easy tasks can be done at any time of year, but an autumn excursion is best when the leaves fall from the trees. Learn more about the benefits of outdoor play with CBeebies Parenting.
What's included in the free activity sheet?
With five easy tasks, this sheet is a great starting point for further connection with outdoor areas for your little one. It features tick boxes so your child can cross off the tasks they've completed. You can print off the sheet and stick it up on the fridge, or take it to the park for an interactive day out.
Go outside!
Can you find three different kinds of leaves?
Put paper over your leaves, rub a crayon on top. See the colourful pattern.
Draw around the leaves and cut them out (with the help of your grown-up).
Follow the instructions to make lovely leaf bunting.
The bunting instructions are on the second page, which can be completed another day or when your family returns home.
Once your child has completed the first four steps, you can help them create the nature-inspired bunting DIY decoration for parties or to celebrate the changing seasons.
Don't forget to cut out the leaf badge on the sheet to award to your little squirrel. A-woof!
