Make a paper pumpkin decoration
Get crafty with your little one and make a beautiful paper pumpkin to decorate your home this autumn. Follow the super simple steps with Rebecca and you'll have your own pumpkin patch in no time.

Who is this activity for?
This easy craft idea is perfect to try with your little one. Grab your paper and glue and follow along with Rebecca as she makes a fun DIY paper pumpkin. Why not make more paper pumpkins and connect them together with sting to make your own autumn garland, perfect for harvest time or Halloween.
Crafting and sensory play is a great way for your child to develop their fine motor skills, language and imagination.
How to make a DIY paper pumpkin
Once you have all the materials from the list above, it's time to begin! Don’t forget to ask a grown-up to help with the scissors.
Take your orange paper and fold it in half. Fold the paper again and then once more.
Pull your folded paper apart and you'll see lots of folded lines. Cut down the lines to make strips.
Take one strip and put some glue in the middle.
Place a new strip of paper on top, across the centre and add more glue to the middle.
Add you final strip across the top and you'll see a star shape.
To build the pumpkin shape, add glue to the ends of each strip and fold them upwards one at a time and stick them into place to make an oval shape.
Take a strip of green paper and wrap it around a pencil to create a pumpkin stalk. Use glue to stick the stalk on top of your pumpkin.
