Healthcare scientists do 80% of Addenbrooke's diagnostic work

One of the region's hospitals is launching a major drive on Monday to encourage more young people into the health service.
Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge is particularly keen to employ scientists who carry out 80% of the hospital's diagnostic work.
Healthcare scientists are employed in a range of jobs from making artificial limbs to testing blood and urine.
At Addenbrooke's, they also support biomedical research and education.
Colin Carr, from the hospital, said: "Science and its application is crucial for the provision of modern healthcare as doctors increasingly rely on the support of healthcare scientists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
