Three people have been seriously injured after a tanker carrying kerosene crashed and spilled its load.

The crash happened on the A153 between Horncastle and Coningsby at Haltham shortly before 0800 BST on Tuesday.

Fuel was leaking from the tanker and there was concern a nearby river may be polluted.

A van, a lorry and a fourth vehicle were also involved.

The driver of the van is reported to be in a serious condition.

A family were moved from their home after kerosene began seeping into the garden.

The injured are a 37-year -old man and a 17-year-old woman, who were both taken to Boston Pilgrim hospital .

A van driver was taken by air ambulance to hospital.

Lincolnshire Fire Service says firefighters had to cut the injured from the wreckage.

An estimated 10,000 litres of kerosene leaked from the tanker and is thought to have entered a river.
