An annual Channel Island horse Race Day has been held despite strong winds.
The event attracted 27 runners for the day's five races at L'Ancresse Common in Guernsey.
A race marquee had to be resurrected after it blew down. Jersey favourite Hakam did not take part after a ferry crossing was cancelled in rough seas.
The Guernsey Race Club responded to concerns about the safety of the track saying it had spent £3,000 on improvements to the running surface.
The club was hosting the event for the third successive year.
